See!! See!!

Zac is at that stage where he has to point out everything and say "SEE!!" He is such a funny little guy. Sometimes it seems like he is just pointing in a random direction and I'll try to guess what it is that he is pointing at. Sometimes he points out such very little details. Aaron says that first thing in the morning all Zac does is "SEE! SEE! SEE!" so much that Aaron can't keep up!

Over the weekend we bought a print on canvas from Costco of Boise. It has some of the major landmarks in the city like the Train Depot, St. Luke's, the Hoff building, the Boise River, BSU, and some hot air balloons (I miss all the hot air balloons we used to have around the River Festival). Zac noticed it right away and was pointing "SEE! SEE!" He likes to look at it, and we point out the various places - including St. Luke's where he was born. It will be fun when he recognizes the landmarks around the city.

I'm looking forward to more curious days, and yes, even the days of "WHY?"

Prayers / Thoughts for Fiona

Please keep Zac's 13 month old friend Fiona in your thoughts and/or prayers. She is in the hospital PICU for HUS (it's affecting her kidneys/blood). I met Fiona & her mother Claire through groups at the hospital for new moms. I've known them since Fiona was less than a month old. She's a darling little girl who loves the water and normally has such a happy disposition. The next couple of weeks are going to be hard for her as she endures surgeries and blood transfusions. We are all pulling for you Fiona!!

Back in the Swing of It

It has been awhile since I posted! What's the point of having a blog if I'm not going to use it, right?

Zac is now 13 months old. He has grown up so fast. He is walking & running now and getting into everything he can around the house. He loves playing with his kitties, especially Jiro, playing with his trucks, and pushing chairs around. It's so funny to see this 30 inch boy pushing a high chair around.

We had our neighborhood night out BBQ on August 3rd. Zac got to meet some firefighters and got to get close to a fire truck. The next night we went to a BBQ for NICU graduates. It was awesome. They had a lot of activities and games for the kids and a pirate for the kids to get their picture with. Zac had the most fun pushing his stroller through the grass -- go figure!
I will be keeping the blog updated! Have a great weekend!

First Annual Zac Attack Jamboree!!

Wow! The last year has gone by so fast! I am just now getting around to starting a blog featuring my favorite subject, my 11 month old son Zac. It has been an amazing ride so far; but more about life with Zac in future entries.

It's almost party time!! I can't believe that next month we will be celebrating Zac's First Birthday. I am very excited about it! We are having Zachary's birthday party on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 12:30-3:30pm at Municipal Park in Boise. We have the Chestnut #2 picnic site reserved. Municipal Park is near downtown just off of Park Blvd & Walnut Street next to the MK Nature Center (or "fish park"). It should be a lot of fun!

Chef Bill Cook (aka Aaron's dad) will be grilling meats including hot dogs and hamburgers. We will have plenty of bbq/picnic foods, and vegetarian friendly food! We will have some drinks, I haven't decided what all for sure, but we will have water, maybe some iced tea, Coke or Pepsi, Diet Coke/Pepsi, and maybe even some beer! I'm thinking Margaritas might be nice too! If there is something specific that you want to drink BYOB. We will also have a birthday cake -- what kind of birthday party would it be without one??

We will have some activities, but I'm not sure what exactly. I have a pull string pinata and I'm trying to come up with a couple games that most age groups would be able to do. Municipal Park has a nice playground as well as a bocce ball court and a baseball field. The MK Nature Center is next door and is nice to walk through with bridges, landscaping, and lots of fish to see. It's along the Boise River and the Greenbelt.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone and hope you can make it to the party. Please do not feel obligated to bring a gift. Zac has plenty of toys and clothes.
